Great Product But Short on Installation Instructions
The Taotronics rearview camera system is really great. The clarity and color are exceptional and much better than I expected for such a low price and the guide and distance markers are very helpful. The 4.3 inch screen is just right for viewing and small enough to be conveniently positioned in my Camry. The wireless system is an easy installation once you get over some basic obstacles (the connectors on the camera wires need a larger opening to get through to the trunk). The main issue is the extremely poor instructions or actually the lack of instructions. Based on my installation experience, I’d like to share the following:
1. The red wire is the hot wire (positive in a negative ground vehicle) for both transmitter and receiver. This is important since reversing the wires will cause the camera or monitor to not work or blow an inline fuse to the monitor (found this out by trial and error – fuse is a 2.0 amp, 250v and can be found at Radio Shack).
