I tried the cheap cameras first and paid for them dearly. Low quality product, low quality picture, IR was virtually useless.

So I decided to go ahead and fork over the $100 for this camera. I was impressed as soon as I took it out of the box. First thing I noticed was how heavy and solid the camera was. Even the wires and connectors were top grade.

As far as the camera itself was concerned, this thing is as good as it gets. First, the enclosure itself is built out of thick metal. Tough. I like that. I deliver firewood in this vehicle and I need a camera that can take an occasional hit. The picture quality was a huge improvement over the cheap camera I had before. I can see everything clearly. Good color resolution and image clarity. It's still possible to make out what's behind you when there's direct light, (such as the sun), pointing toward the lens, though there is some glare. Night vision is amazing. It's just as good a picture at night as it is...
