This key was for my wife's car. Her key died because the cheap prongs on the battery holder broke off and she couldn't use the key fob to lock the doors. She took to leaving the doors unlocked because every time she unlocked the door manually, the alarm went off! This was the second key to fail, so I needed to find an alternative that hopefully didn't involve the dealer and his extreme mark-up.

I bought this key-blank hoping it would do the trick. It arrived promptly and clearly the quality of the plastics and assembly were better than the original. The buttons had far more positive feel. As for cutting the key, I took it to a local 'big box home tools depot' and they did the key at no cost! (They said that they didn't stock this key and they only charged for the blanks, so bringing in my own blank they just cut it for free!) Next I had to 'program' it so that the car would recognize the RFID chip in the key. This requires you to follow some simple but precise steps...
